Watermelon season
« on: July 01, 2015, 08:10:35 PM »
So, Herk received his new watermelon collar and leash (complete with tiny picnic ants)  from Live,Life, Large today.  I really wanted a picture of Herk by the vegetable garden with a watermelon, but, the ground is sloped there and the melon kept rolling away and Jazzie-Pie kept chasing it and then Herk wanted it and I had to rescue the sweet little watermelon and I'd put it on the hill and it would start to roll and...  :laughing.smiley:

Jazz got a new Jolly Ball, that I had been saving for a special occasion,  to keep her away from the rolling watermelon.  I guess "Watermelon Day" is special enough for my sweet girl!
:heart.smiley:

End result:  Two Happy Pups

Oh, yes---and EVERONE had bits of watermelon here and there.  :wink2:

Sounds like your garden is plentiful! I can just taste that sweet watermelon myself.
Great photos of the Herkmyster and Jazzy Pie.  Thanks so much for sharing!

Love those watermelons. Attached is a picture of my sons pumpkin patch in Tennessee, He is hard core and has drip irrigation on a timer since he is on the road for weeks on end. The pumpkins are from seeds that produce pumpkins in the 200 lb plus so they are AM size play certified (Large +)

It sounds like you had a fun-filled day Barb and got some great pictures to remember the day by.  Your dogs look so regal in those pictures and the watermelon adds so much color.  Love it!

No contests yet as this is his first year trying for the AM size guys.
He always was telling me about the lot next to him that he wanted to buy but it was never for sale. Anyway he called me and during the conversation he said the lot was for sale for the first time and he was strapped at the present. To make a long story short I purchased the lot and its in our name. We both have the same first name so in reality I own it at least until he pays me back so I think I will send him a bill for planting on my property.  I don't even know the lot size but I think its 3/4 acre.

So, he'll have to share the grand prize for largest pumpkin AND some of the product  (or, at least a pie)!!!
Let us know when/if you drive through the area to view your landholdings, Baron Ed!
