Thinking Kuranda Bed
« on: July 14, 2017, 04:01:35 AM »
I am thinking it may be time to get Scarlett another bed to replace the crate.  All of a sudden this week she is not just getting inside like she has since I got her.  She will lay down and give me the sad face or just sit and stare at me.  At 6 1/2 months I am thinking she may be getting uncomfortable in it now - it's the giant crate so she still fits but I'm sure she'd like to stretch out more.  So I am thinking of going with the Kuranda bed to keep in my office/mud room for her.  She currently has a mammoth bed XL in the living room and then a memory foam bed I got at Sam's Club years ago for my other dogs that I keep in my bedroom for her.  Most of the time she will just lay on her blankets in the living room and only use the bed every now and then.  For the Kuranda I am thinking of getting the aluminum frame, 50 x 36 (which is the largest size), and either with cordura fabric or heavy duty vinyl.

Would love to hear from those of you who have a Kuranda bed, what do you like or dislike about them, how does your dog like it and what size, fabric, frame do you recommend.

Thanks everyone!

I don't personally have one but all the reports I have heard about them have been positive.  Not sure it will hold the weight of a full grown AM though but I think  you would get a few months use out of it  (unless you have a "mini mastiff")

I had Kuranda's for my two. My boy was a bed destroyer which stopped after we got the Kuranda. I prefer the aluminum frame, we have had both, poly and aluminum  frames. The metal is not as creaky . My boy was around 175 lbs and my girl was 115 lbs. The Kuranda handled their weight with no problems. As my girl got older I got the shorter legs so it would be easier to get up on the raised bed. It is a great choice.
